Thanks to all our volunteers today!! Don’t forget, it will be one of Pacer events on the 17th of September with odd numbers!! It's a good job the following very nice people turned up or 220 runners would not have been able to run round the grounds of Edge Hill University this week: These were:Ĭongratulations to those runners who achieved new PBs today!!ġ41 runners didn’t record new PBs today. I do really think it’s about time we all joined a running club, don’t you?ģ7 athletes harvested a crop of brand new PBs this week. The most represented club this week was Liverpool Pembroke & Sefton Harriers & AC with seven runners. It was a pleasure to welcome Burnden Road Runners which was the only new running club running with us this week. Liverpool Pembroke & Sefton Harriers & AC.These clubs were (in order of finishing): In the field of 220 there were 33 athletes representing 18 clubs. Thank you for visiting our parkrun today!! Please give our usual exceptionally warm welcome into the parkrun family and a slice or two of our delicious, internationally renowned Ormskirk Edam cheese to:Ĭongratulations on completing your first parkrun today!! Another 26 had never run at a parkrun event before. Once Paul’s poetry recital was over with, we all lined up at the start feeling really inspired by Paul’s choice of poetry/asking ourselves and each other what on earth all that nonsense was about.Ģ20 parkrunners made their way to Edge Hill University to take part in our 131st Ormskirk parkrun event today. Paul then read some poetry, I think it was, by Albert EINSTEIN. I dare say it’ll come back to me before the end of the report.

No, Stavros, Victor was running in his 94th parkrun today. “Was it Victor MAESSCHALCK, Mark?” interrupts Stavros, eager to be of assistance, as always. I think Paul then paid tribute to one of our most loyal parkrunners and parkvolunteers who was running his 100th parkrun today but, do you know, for the life of me, I can’t remember who it was. He then mentioned the bike ride to Crosby but I’ve already done all this stuff in the opening paragraph so I don’t know why I’m repeating myself here. He then warned those parkrunners who were planning to head to Southport next/this week that the Southport Air Show is taking place that weekend so they should expect lots of traffic. Paul then reminded us all about next week’s cancelled event. Paul probably began by reminding everyone that all U11s must be accompanied at all times by a parent, guardian or designated adult. Run Director Paul was in charge of proceedings today. Ormskirk parkrun (whoever that is) hopes everyone enjoys their forthcoming international break wherever and however it is spent!!Īt 9am on the 3rd of September 2016 at Edge Hill University, Ormskirk, the temperature was 16 ̊C, feeling like 16 ̊C, with at first no rain and then there was some rain, 100% cloud cover, 90% humidity and a 5mph southerly wind. If you are planning to run or volunteer at Southport parkrun this weekend, please be advised that Southport Air Show is also taking place this weekend and there may be a lot of traffic. I’ll be timekeeping at Haigh Woodland parkrun. I think Paul will be posting more details on our Facebook page soon. You can either join Paul at the start or join him en route. Event Director Paul has organised a bike ride to Crosby parkrun setting off from Morrison’s car park at 7:30am. I hope as many of you as possible can take this opportunity to do a spot of parkrun tourism, either as a runner or a volunteer. I would like to begin this week’s report by reminding everyone that there will be no parkrun event at Ormskirk on the 10th of September. Hello fellow parkrunners and welcome to this week’s run report. Run Director Paul gets 220 athletes under way.
