When the war was over, he was happy to let his friend Jack be the public face (and ultimately responsible one) while he ran the Blackwatch division. A ruthless soldier who would do anything to get the job done, he was given leadership of Overwatch during the Omnic Crisis, where he helped lead mankind's fight against the Omnics. In truth, Reaper is none other than the former co-founder of Overwatch (and head of its covert ops), Gabriel Reyes. They believe that Reaper is hunting former Overwatch agents and systematically eliminating them. Those attempting to track his movements have begun to see a pattern in his appearances. It's possible that Reaper is killing Overwatch agents purely out of revenge, but for that he wouldn't be taking their souls so there has to be a bigger reason for it! Blizzard also hasn't mentioned anyone that has been killed by him yet and there has to be a bigger reasoning for that as well. I think Reaper was the one who killed Ana Amari and he was able to use her soul in order to create Sombra, an Omnic with the soul of Ana Amari inside. I don't think Blizzard would state this without having any names in mind themselves. We have also not yet been given any names of the Overwatch agents that he has killed so far, they've so far only said that he is killing them. But what if he has found a way to extract peoples souls and put them inside Omnics? That way he would be able to take the abilities of Overwatch agents and create his own force of obedient soldiers. The reason why Reaper is killing Overwatch agents and why he is taking their souls has not yet been revealed. This has to mean that there is a real consciousness within each Omnic. The very part that most people associate with a human being also exists within the Omnics! Destroying a computer would not leave a soul for him to pick up, but killing an Omnic does. Everyone does this, even Omnics like Zenyatta and Bastion.
